I absolutely love capturing quiet moments during the wedding ceremony like this angelic flower girl wearing a crown of baby’s breath flowers. So often, I am drawn to images of contrast, and relish in the way her white dress balances off the darkness of the men’s suits. There is a softness to this photo that I appreciate as it gives me a sense that time stands still on this very special day.
I truly adore being a wedding photographer at the John Marshall Ballrooms in Richmond, Virginia. Located in the heart of downtown Richmond, words do little justice to its’ classic elegance. As a luxurious part of the former Hotel John Marshall, this wedding venue just exudes sophisticated charm!
Wedding Wire selected the John Marshall Ballrooms to receive the Couple’s Choice award in 2017 and when you step foot into this place you can see why! The venue consists of two jaw-dropping rooms, The Marshall Ballroom and the Virginia Ballroom. Both ballrooms offer plenty of space and class for the wedding ceremony and wedding reception of your dreams. The Marshall Ballroom is illuminated by nine vintage crystal chandeliers and three walls of thirty foot windows, offering plenty of natural light. The Virginia Ballroom has a beautiful, wrap-around Mezzanine balcony, three original Swarovski crystal chandeliers, and the hotel’s initial hardwood dance floor. Everything about this place just "feels" like the essence of Richmond.
Additionally, there are so many aesthetically beautiful historical sites right around the corner from this venue that make it a great location to sneak off to capture photos of the wedding party, family, and happy couple! Just blocks away sits the Virginia State Capitol building, The Berkeley Hotel, The Richmond Coliseum, The Bolling Haxal House, and the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
