Let me start this off by saying how much it means to me when my amazing friends send couples my way. It builds an immediate sense of trust. I am so thankful to be blessed by such amazing people. Truly. I loved being able to meet up with these two for a fabulous Richmond engagement session.

When I first met Hannah in a facetime chat, we hit it off. When she described her wedding plans, I just knew I wanted to be a part of it. She is a designer herself and being able to collaborate with other creative people makes my job seem effortless. She had amazing ideas for what she wanted to her and Keith’s session to be and I adore the photos. Keith and Hannah are high school sweethearts and the ease at which they are together is almost mesmerizing. I felt right at home from the moment I knocked on their door for the session. We hopped in the car and went to a few different places around town. We went to the VMFA and then headed over to the tree lined streets of Monument Ave. It could not have been more perfect. I almost didn’t want the session to end. I am beyond excited for their October wedding at Linden Row Inn. I can’t wait to meet their families and friends! Hannah gave me a little insight to what a fun group of people will be at the wedding and I’m looking forward to it.

The best thing about these two gorgeous people is that they have their own vibe of beauty between them, it’s a fun loving confidence and I am so happy I get to photograph them again at their wedding. I love getting to know my couples and connecting with them to really bring out who they are. I always love traveling out to Richmond, it is just a beautiful place. So – here are just a few highlights of our fun afternoon!

This amazing marriage started on a Friday at the Washington D.C. Temple. Liz and I arrived a little early, to walk around and take some pictures of this amazing temple. The Temple is just gorgeous. D.C. can be such a busy area, but the Temple is tucked away a bit in a neighborhood where you get a really serene feeling.  When you first see it, it almost takes your breath away a bit and the gold steeples almost appear to be going right into the sky. It is truly beautiful. We waited outside with some family and friends for Victoria and Matthew to exit after their sealing. It was such an amazing experience and I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of it. It was a rainy and overcast April day but that didn’t stop us. Tori and Matt have such an amazing love and respect for each other. Tori is a student at BYU and Matt studied there as well. It was a love that grew out of a friendship, and they are most definitely best friends. Many family and friends traveled all the way from out west to be at their wedding on the east coast. After the sealing on Friday, we all traveled down south a bit to Williamsburg, where they had a ring ceremony and reception the following day. This was my first Williamsburg wedding and I loved being in the area. The ring ceremony was held at the Cheatam Annex Naval Base in Williamsburg. It was a perfect setting for a ceremony that overlooked the water. The sun decided to break through the clouds just as the ceremony ended and we were able to get some amazing backlit bridal party shots. Towards the end of the night, Tori’s dad built a bonfire and everyone gathered around to end the night next to the fire. It was a really intimate and perfect way to end the night and the images are some of my most favorite. A Williamsburg wedding done right, with family and friends and lots of love and laughter.

I hope you enjoy seeing a small glimpse into their wedding weekend. I sincerely love getting to know my couples and producing a story of their wedding for them. I have the most amazing job and I am so thankful for my clients and my work.

I first got to know Johanna when I was coaching field hockey at Lynchburg College. We are both Virginia Beach field hockey players and share a sincere love for the sport. She is a fun, outgoing, and amazingly smart person. When I met Justin, he was nothing short of what I expected. A gentlemen, and fun person to hang out with and someone who has dedicated a good amount of time to serving our country. Anyone who knows me, knows that although I am not from a military family, I have such strong gratitude for anyone who serves our country to help me and my family live a better life. We hung out for a few hours, drove around their little town and went to some local places to capture some beautiful images for them. Golden hour could not have been more beautiful on them. The sun coming over the hills was just perfect. We talked about hockey, my kids, their families, their legal ceremony they had the day before, and I even got to meet their adorable pup, Kelo. Kelo is one of the cutest dogs and he was super welcoming and friendly to me. I can’t say enough about how much I love getting to know my couples at a more intimate level. These wonderful people open up and share part of their story with me and it means so much to me.

I am looking forward to their 2017 wedding! I can’t wait until I get to hang out with them again, meet their families and celebrate them even more!

This Virginia Beach wedding was so unique and fun. It was smiles from beginning to end. Jenna and Nate shared their day with family and friends who definitely know how to have a good time! (See some reception highlights below!) They started the day at the oceanfront to get ready and followed that with a beautiful ceremony and reception at The Yacht Club at Marina Shores. It was full of color and joy. It’s clear how much they love their family and friends and how special their love is. I especially loved hearing toasts at this wedding, it allowed me a chance to hear about what truly wonderful people Jenna and Nate are. Jenna wore her mother’s wedding dress and her grandmother’s earrings. I mean, honestly, how awesome is that? Both of them were surrounded with hilarious bridal party and that made it even more fun. Did I mention how amazing all the dancing was? Might have been my favorite part of the day!

It’s such a joy being able to capture moments for people. It’s a job I do not take lightly and something I enjoy doing so much. I’m looking forward to all my weddings this year and next year. I love getting to meet new families and see their unique love. It’s something that never gets old.

I had a beautiful engagement session with Victoria and Christian a couple weeks ago. It’s so awesome to be able to do engagement photos with your wedding photographer, because it helps everyone reach a certain comfort zone. Honestly, I laughed so hard and they were so much fun to be around. It gave me a new sense of understanding how they are together (which is amazing), as well as who they are as people. We got together at West Manor Estate for the beginning of their session and ended up in Downtown Lynchburg. We ran into some of their friends and we had quite a photobomber experience downtown (sorry I don’t have pictures of that because I was trying to escort him out of the frame). They are going to be married this summer and I could not be happier for the two of them. The pictures so perfectly display their love and how much they make each other happy.
